New Discoveries


Okay yeah I know this isn't technically something new in the blog world, but it's new to me. Today was the first time I got to try one of these babies out and man did I love it! It's such a great way to not only strengthen your muscles but it's always cardio at the same time, which makes for a nice sweaty workout!

Resting is overrated!

Just kidding. But today was different. I didn't really rest too much between my sets and reps, but instead I preformed things like kettebell swings, mountain climbers, jump lunges and planks. This isn't something I normally did before basically because I didn't have enough room at the gym I was using. But now, since I have a new gym that has more room, it's easy and fun to add in moves like these between sets! It really got my heart rate up which was nice!

I'm Confident!

Even thought I was at a completely new and unfamiliar gym today, I didn't let that stop me from getting in a great workout. Actually, it was probably one of my best workouts yet! It's hard to imagine that just six months ago, I wouldn't even step foot in the weight room and now I know all kinds of exercises and can lift pretty darn heavy! When I first walked in the weight room this morning, I was a bit overwhelmed. Everything was different from my other gym. The machines were different, the set up was different and the people were all staring at me. But what did I do? I did what I knew. I love free weights so that's what I started with and then I found the squat rack and got right back into my routine. I was so proud of myself for having the confidence to be me and do what I do!

Health Food Stores = Awesomeness!

I swear, the health food store I found today in Bangor is going to steal all my money. It's like an actual supermarket but it only has organic and natural foods, I mean what can get better than that right? I walked in with my mom and right away I was overwhelmed. I didn't know where to go next haha. I really didn't NEED anything, but ended walking out with turkey jerky, brown rice protein, zevia drinks, coconut water, and salsa! It was crazy. I love it. 

Eggs are Good!

I haven't always been the biggest fan of eggs, but lately I find myself turning to them when I'm in need of something filled with protein. I just made two wonderfully looking eggs and they were damn good!

I Like Rhythm!

Rhythm Foods that is. This company is awesome and they have some very tasty snacks! Kale Chips and Sweet Potato Chips. They are both delicious and worth a try from your local health food store!

Rain is Poopy.

I woke up to pouring rain this morning and it was kind of depressing. I think they are calling for over 1" of rain! Sometimes it's not bad, because you can just stay inside and relax but today I wanted to go get some errands done but I'm not really looking forward to doing them in the rain. Oh well.

  1. those kale chips are so good, I have to agree! I love finding health food stores that are actually cheaper than the real stores. Makes me super happy!

  2. YES,rain is the worst! It makes me so depressed each time I look out of the window,it's awful. I do like autumn with the colorful leaves and all,but the rain... Can we skip that,pretty please?
